Celebrating victories that impact families in Oregon
2026 Policy Update
Senate Bill 692 is a major step forward for families in Oregon—it expands access to doulas and perinatal support by requiring insurance coverage and investing in a stronger, culturally responsive workforce. The bill also improves Medicaid (OHP) reimbursement for doulas by setting a minimum payment level and requiring regular rate reviews, helping ensure doulas are paid fairly and more families can receive care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—especially in communities that have historically faced barriers to support.
